Congratulations to the Claremont Fan Court School orienteering squad, who have won their regional heat of the Yvette Baker Shield for junior orienteers to reach the national final. While storm Freya swept across the country at the weekend, the five members of the squad braved the squally weather to line up in Tilgate Forest against runners from all over the south east of England. Undeterred by the driving rain and wind, the boys competed with determination and brought to bear all the navigational lessons they had learned over the year. Although none of them managed to get into the top three on any course, they made few errors, and their solid and consistent results (below) ensured their passage to the national final at Sandringham in July. Well done to all!

Ellis A Yellow 2.5 km 39:40
Thomas F Orange 3.0 km 33:50

Nathan J Green 4.6 km 59:39
